Mass Vision Foundation
The Massachusetts Vision Foundation is a 501(c)(3) educational foundation dedicated to increasing awareness and importance of eye health to Massachusetts citizens, and to improve the quality of eye care in the Commonwealth through the educational enrichment of the general public and eye doctors. The Foundation awards scholarships to optometry students who intend to practice in Massachusetts, collaborates with other state health care organizations for eye health awareness campaigns, and helps organize front-line eye health vision screenings to underserved populations.
The Massachusetts Vision Foundation selects students from Massachusetts colleges of optometry toreceive annual scholarships. Contact Us for information and or download this application for the annual scholarship program. Applications are due to your school scholarship committee by Thursday, October 15, 2026.
Criteria
- Be a Massachusetts resident*
- Be enrolled at either MCPHS or NECO
- Intend to practice optometry in Massachusetts upon graduation
- Intend to become a member of the Massachusetts Society of Optometrists
- Be in good academic standing with a GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Demonstrate financial need
- Demonstrate involvement in community service, leadership, or the optometric profession
*A permanent Massachusetts resident, independent of school enrollment. Students who live in Massachusetts only while attending NECO, MCPHS, or another educational institution are not considered Massachusetts residents for purposes of this scholarship.

- One-page resume
- Brief personal statement describing:
- Why you plan to practice optometry in Massachusetts
- Your involvement in leadership, service, or organized optometry
- How this scholarship would support your education and professional goals
- Completion of your optometry school's financial and process
